The Development Corporation of Snyder (DCOS) has been hard at work creating economic opportunities and revitalizing the community of Snyder, Texas. Our efforts have led to some remarkable achievements that are setting the stage for Snyder's continued growth and vibrancy.

One of the biggest wins was attracting $3.1 million in capital investment through three major partnerships. This included the relocation of HTeaO, an innovative technology company, to Snyder. As HTeaO's owner Brandon Williamson shared, "The DCOS has been invaluable...Their contacts and resources helped us make key infrastructure improvements."

Another economic boost came from Plastic Welding & Fabrication's $1.5 million expansion, creating over 30 new jobs. The company's founder praised the DCOS, saying "We are incredibly grateful...for making this expansion possible. Snyder provides everything we need to take our company to the next level."

The DCOS also welcomed The Rollin Alley, a new premier family entertainment center developed through a vision partnership with entrepreneur Kirk Taylor. It transformed a vacant building into a vibrant community space.

Beyond attracting new businesses, the DCOS is reinvesting in existing companies and properties through its Economic Improvement Initiative. DCOS’ investment of $389K is going towards the funding of renovations that uplift the entire community.

Looking forward, Snyder is poised for growth with these investments projected to increase annual sales by $5.5 million and annual wages by $1.2 million, including all 3 upcoming projects. The DCOS also secured a $150,000 grant to design and build a revolutionary fiber optic broadband network for the city's digital future.

The DCOS' efforts extend beyond just economic development. Last year’s "Take Back Sparkle City" event where over 200 volunteers removed 106,000 pounds of trash, demonstrating the community's commitment to a cleaner environment. This annual event will take place again at the end of April.

The new "Bucket List Challenge" app gamifies exploring local businesses through a digital discovery pass, driving foot traffic to boutiques, restaurants, and hidden gems. This supports Snyder's entrepreneurial spirit.

With strategic investments, public-private partnerships, creative placemaking projects, and a focus on existing business retention/expansion, the DCOS is showing how economic developers can catalyze inclusive growth. Snyder is clearly a community on the rise thanks to the DCOS' vision and hard work on behalf of residents and businesses. The future looks bright in Snyder!
