Economic Excellence in Snyder, Texas

The Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC) recently announced the 2023 recipients of its Economic Excellence Recognition program at the 2024 Winter Conference in San Antonio. I'm proud to share that the Development Corporation of Snyder (DCOS) was among the 72 economic development organizations across Texas to receive this prestigious honor. 

The TEDC's Economic Excellence Recognition sets a high standard for professionalism in economic development efforts statewide. To qualify, organizations must demonstrate that board members and staff meet thresholds for training, certifications, memberships, and activities that contribute to organizational effectiveness. DCOS prides itself for its outstanding commitment to excellence and professionalization of local economic growth strategies. 

DCOS plays a vital role in attracting, retaining, and expanding business in Snyder. Recent initiatives, such as the $570 thousand in grants for property improvements, $2.8 million capital investment in Snyder, exemplify DCOS's vision for our community's future. DCOS has created an eight-dollar impact for the community per one dollar invested by DCOS. The organization also works closely with local partners to enhance Snyder's appeal to companies considering relocation or expansion in West Texas. These diligent, collaborative efforts to boost Snyder's economy have paid dividends with new jobs and capital investments.

The DCOS team has much to celebrate in earning this latest TEDC honor. It also sets a high bar to maintain best practices while continuously innovating Snyder's economic development strategy. Congratulations again to all involved!
