Snyder’s empowering educational pipeline extends from elementary schools where dual language instruction is offered, to middle school STEM labs, to high school and college curriculum and standards that assure personal achievement and workforce excellence.

K-12 preparation

Snyder K-12 students graduate high school at rates higher than the state average, and they graduate career-ready with critical relevant skills and industry credentials through dual credit options and an accredited P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College) program. Dual credit courses are available through Western Texas University and South Plains College; P-TECH students can choose from 15 different fields, including logistics, healthcare/therapeutics, software programming and development, and welding. P-TECH students learn in the classroom and at the workplace while they earn relevant industry credentials, associate degrees and/or two-year post-secondary certificates. Dual credit students may also be eligible to enroll in the Tech Teach program at Texas Tech, which allows them to complete a bachelor’s degree, including student teaching and teaching certification, within 13 months. Western Texas College (WTC)

Through Opportunity Scholarships, qualified Snyder high school graduates attend WTC tuition-free, allowing students to move up in their skills and careers without being weighed down by college debt. Multiple locations including two satellite campuses in downtown Snyder provide convenient access to 10 different associate degree academic programs and 10 career programs including medical/clinical assistant, medical administrative assistant, truck driving and welding.
